The North Carolina Division of Transportation (NCDOT) planned to make extensive improvements at the intersection of South Salisbury Street and South Main Street (US Highway 601) including roadway widening and realignment. Prior to these activities being completed the Town of Mocksville owned utilities needed to be relocated.
The Town retained Willis Engineers to design a new water line which replaced an existing outdated water line that services many commercial and residential customers in the project area. The project will include a connection to the existing water line on South Salisbury Street and South Main Street (Highway 601). In addition, approximately 600 feet of 8-inch sewer line had to be relocated to make way for the roadway intersection project. Bids were received in February 2018 and construction was completed in Fall of 2018.
