Willis Engineers worked with the Town of Mooresville to evaluate and design a new booster pump station intended to exclusively serve customers in the high service gradient, located on the north side of Town. As development increased in this area it became clear that the existing facilities serving this area would soon be insufficient in meeting the needs of the Town’s customers. Willis Engineers identified an incremental pumping solution consisting of a pump station with three split-case pumps sized to meet current demands as well as accommodate future flow.

The new pump station, in conjunction with other distribution projects that are currently underway, will provide increased system reliability as well as expand the limits of the high service gradient. Additionally, the Town will be able to decommission the aging booster pump station currently serving the area. Construction of the new pump station was completed in May 2021.
